<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit of an opening and closing body for a vehicle, which can detect pinching at an early stage, and which enables a detection load for determination of the pinching to be set small. <P>SOLUTION: In the control unit (power window drive unit) of the opening and closing body for the vehicle, an estimated load computing portion 13 computes an estimated load fo of a motor from the rotational speed, rotational acceleration and drive voltage of the motor. A vibration load computing portion 15 computes a vibration load f of the motor, on the basis of a predetermined transfer function from a detection signal of an acceleration sensor attached to the vehicle (e.g. a control board of the motor and an ECU). Additionally, a vibration elimination load computing portion 16 corrects the computed value of the estimated load fo, computed by the estimated load computing portion 13, by the computed value of the vibration load f computed by the vibration load computing portion 15.
