<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a compression rate in applying compression coding to a sample string representing sound or image when the sample string includes a redundant sample, and to reduce deterioration in reproduction quality of the sound or pixel represented by the sample string after being subjected to compression coding and decoding to be smaller than before. <P>SOLUTION: When unused sample is included in the sample string representing the sound or image in applying compression coding to the sample string, the value of the unused sample is rewritten in order to allow data at the optical position of an output data string to be a prescribed value, the output data string being obtained when data conversion processing (DCT etc.) to be the pre-processing of the compression coding processing is performed, then the data conversion processing and the compression coding processing are performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
