PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-separated camera apparatus in which correction processing is adaptively performed on a video signal by a camera head and a camera control unit (CCU), when there is nonconformity in a sensor. SOLUTION: A head-separated camera apparatus includes an imaging apparatus, a control device for controlling the imaging apparatus and a cable connecting the imaging apparatus and the control device. The imaging apparatus includes a sensing means for capturing a video image; a storage means for storing flaw information determining whether to perform correction processing on a flaw of the sensing means by the imaging apparatus or by the control device; a first correction means for performing correction processing on a video signal captured by the sensing means on the basis of the flaw information; and a transmission means for transmitting the video signal corrected by the correction means to the control device. The control device has a receiving means for receiving the video signal, and a video-processing means for performing video processing on the video signal received by the receiving means.
