The sensor (100) has a sensing element (102) e.g. photo-stimulated or resistive type ozone sensor, comprising a detecting portion (120) for gas contained in liquid. A liquid-impermeable element (112) is transmissive for the gas, and is arranged with respect to the sensing element for avoiding direct contact between the liquid and the detecting portion of the sensing element. The liquid-impermeable element is comprised of a material e.g. PTFE, Polypropylene, Polyethersulfone, Polyvinylpyrrolidone/Polyethersulfone composite, Polyvinylpyrrolidone/Polystyrene composite and silicone. An independent claim is also included for a system for detecting concentration of gas in liquid.
