PURPOSE: A resource allocation method and apparatus thereof in broadband wireless communication system are provided to assign resources by comprising a fixed resource allocation pointer information according to a size of sub-band. CONSTITUTION: A controller(1400) decides one or more sub-bands that assigned and based on the sub-band channel information. A message generating unit(1402) comprises the resource allocation pointer for assigning one or more sub-bands according to total sub-band number in a discontinuous resource allocation area. The sub-band comprises a plurality of resource units.
