PURPOSE: An array substrate for an In-plane switching mode LCD and a method for fabricating the same are provided to reduce power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An array substrate for an In-plane switching mode LCD comprises a gate line which is extended on a substrate(101) with a pixel area, a common line which is formed in parallel with the gate line, a data line which defines the pixel area, a TFT which is formed on the intersection area in which the gate line crosses the data line, a protection layer which is formed on the edge area of each pixel area, a first and a second sub patterns, a plurality of pixel electrodes, a plurality of common electrodes, and an alignment layer which is formed on the pixel electrodes and the common electrode. |
