<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing downtime by preventing automatic stop of the apparatus when supplying power to the apparatus next in advance if a position of a belt is artificially deviated to a position where it is possible to cause failure in image forming operation. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the belt that is tensioned and laid on rollers; a roller driving part that drives the rollers; a plurality of belt position detection parts that detect the position of the belt; a belt position correction part that corrects the position of the belt to a prescribed position; and a controller that controls to stop the roller driving part when the belt exists at a position out of a prescribed range on the basis of a result of detection by the belt position detection part during the image forming operation. Before first image forming operation is performed after performing maintenance work of the apparatus, the position of the belt is corrected to the prescribed position by the belt position correction part on the basis of the result of detection by the belt position detection part regardless of the result of detection by the belt position detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
