PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe electrostatic atomizer which is capable of promptly and surely introducing water that has been supplied from a water supply part to the tip atomization part of a water application electrode and preventing unnecessary discharge. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomizer 200 is provided with: an electrode holding frame which holds the water application electrode 2 and in which an opening to drain excessive water from the water supply part is formed; and a shielding wall 72, which is installed in the electrode holding frame so that the same is brought into contact with the water application electrode between the body 28 and the tip atomization part 29, to electrically insulate the position between a water outflow area 91 and a mist generation area 92. The water application electrode 2 has a constitution that the tip atomization part 29 is protruded from the shielding wall 72 to the mist generation area 92 and that the dropping position of water to the body part of the water application electrode from the water supply part is on the body 28 in the water outflow area side which is apart from the tip atomization part 29.
