PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for removing contaminants contained in a solid material at a low cost. SOLUTION: The method for removing contaminants from a solid material comprises a process of immersing the solid material containing the contaminants into a liquid filled in a reaction tank, a process of supplying bubbles into the liquid in which the solid material has been immersed, a process of separating solids of the contaminants, eluting into the liquid, from the liquid by solid-liquid filtration, a process of separating fluorine and boron, contained in the contaminants eluting into the liquid, from the liquid, and a process of returning again the liquid subjected to the solid-liquid filtration and the separation of fluorine and boron to the reaction tank.
