PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit and an imaging apparatus that eliminate the need for a movable portion and achieve high magnification. SOLUTION: The optical unit includes a first lens group G110 from an object to a diaphragm 114, and a second lens group G120 from the diaphragm 114 to an image plane. The first lens group G110 includes a first liquid lens 111 having at least one light transmissive deformable film. In the first liquid lens, its deformable film is located on the object side face, and deformed from a concave shape to a convex shape for a wide angle end and a telephoto end, respectively. The second lens group G120 includes a second liquid lens 117 having at least one light transmissive deformable film. In the second liquid lens, its deformable film is located on the object side face, and deformed from a concave shape to a convex shape for the wide angle end and the telephoto end, respectively.
