<p>Disclosed is an illumination device which, together with being capable of controlling whether or not light is output in each minute region in a light-guide member, is excellent in terms of the ease with which the light-guide member can be installed and is ideal for the prevention of brightness irregularity. A backlight device (12) is provided with: a plurality of LEDs (17) constituting light sources; and a light-guide member (19) that has a light input face (19b) into which light enters from the LEDs (17), and a light output face (19a) which outputs light. In the face (19c) on the opposite side to the light output face (19a) of the light-guide member (19), grooves (22) are formed in an arrangement dividing the light output face (19a) into a plurality of regions (A) when seen in plan view, and the plurality of LEDs (17) are respectively arranged corresponding to the plurality of regions (A). In the grooves (22), LED-accommodating grooves (22A) are included which accommodate at least any one of the plurality of LEDs (17) and which have an inside face that serves as the light input face (19b).</p> |
