USE OF FRAME CACHING TO IMPROVE PACKET LOSS RECOVERY

PURPOSE: A method for using a frame caching is provided to remove a signaling overhead related to a slice based coding. CONSTITUTION: An encoder system(200) compresses a predicted frame and a key frame. A motion estimator(210) outputs the same motion information(215) as a motion vector as side information. A frequency converter(260) converts spatial domain video information into frequency domain data. A quantizer(270) quantizes the block of spectral data coefficient. An entropy coder(280) inputs compressed video information(295) into a buffer(290).
