PURPOSE: An equalizer control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to efficiently eliminate a noise of a terminal by using location information of a receiving user and a background noise that is from a transmitting user. CONSTITUTION: A background noise recognizing unit decides an attribute of the background noise according to an environment where is the transmitting user. A background noise delete unit(210) presumes the noise that is from an input signal by using a predetermined noise parameter about a determined attribute of the background noise. The background noise delete unit eliminates the presumed noise. An equalizer control unit(310) applies a speech enhancement parameter according to the location information of the terminal. The equalizer control unit adjusts an equalizer about the input signal that the noise is removed.
