<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact light source apparatus configured such that a semiconductor light emitting device is efficiently cooled to brightly emit light by attaching a plurality of heat dissipation members comprising a base plate and a heat sink fin to a heat transfer member and transferring heat to the respective heat dissipation members through the heat transfer member, and to provide a projector provided with the light source apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The projector includes a light source unit having the light source apparatus, a display element, a projector controller, etc. The light source apparatus includes the semiconductor light emitting device, a holder 80 holding the semiconductor light emitting device, the heat transfer member 90 thermally connected to the holder 80, and the plurality of heat dissipation members 82 and 83 configured so that a plurality of heat sink fins 85 are arranged side by side on one surface of the base plate 84.
