<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool for jacking up a load, particularly a heavy load, utilizing a general purpose hydraulic jack, and a jack-up method using the tool. <P>SOLUTION: The tool for the hydraulic jack includes a load engaging part 11 having, on the outer surface, an external thread adapted to an internal thread 41 of a jack-up threaded hole provided in a load to be jacked up; a cylindrical member 1 coaxially having a cylinder engaging part 12 having, on the inner surface, an internal thread adapted to an external thread 31 on the outer surface of a cylinder of the general purpose hydraulic jack 3; and an extension round rod 2 of a rod of the hydraulic jack, sliding in the cylindrical member 1.
