PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent backlash caused by a gap between the inside of an opening edge of an adapter attaching hole and a side surface of an adapter body when the adapter body is inserted into the adapter attaching hole of a panel. SOLUTION: A U-shaped-frame-like backlash prevention tool 1 attached to the adapter body 10 for an optical connector includes: first locking pieces 3a and 3b folded obliquely outward so that both end side surfaces 3 of a U-shaped frame come into pressure contact with the inside of an opening edge of the adapter attaching hole Q of the panel P; and second locking pieces 4a and 4b erected obliquely outward from the center of the both end side surfaces 3 of the U-shaped frame so as to face locking projections 11a and 11b formed on each side surface of the adapter body 10.
