PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which has a mechanism for moving a pressing rotating body to a place where the pressing rotating body is not pressed when the main power supply of an image forming apparatus is turned off. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a heating rotating body 9a; a pressing roller 9b; a support member 81 which supports the pressing roller 9b and one end of which is rotatably supported; an operation member 82 one end of which is connected to a free end of the support member 81 via a connection member 83 and the other end of which is rotatably pivoted; an eccentric cam member 84 which switches the heating rotating body 9a and the pressing roller 9b in abutting state or spacing state by vertically displacing the operation member 82; and a rotation driving part 85 which does not maintain the rotation position of the eccentric cam member 84 when power is not supplied, and allows the eccentric cam member 84 to rotate and move to the rotation position where the heating rotating body 9a and the pressing roller 9b are spaced by one' own weight of the operation member 82.
