PURPOSE: A pre-tensioned compression member is provided to improve compressive strength and buckling strength or partial buckling strength by previously compressing an elastic member. CONSTITUTION: A pre-tensioned compression member comprises a compression member body(10), an elastic member(30), and one or more elastic member support bodies(50). The elastic member applies pre-tension to the compression member body. The elastic member support bodies fix the compressed elastic member to the compression member body. The compression member body comprises a pair of plates(10b). The plates are fixed to both sides of the elastic member support bodies.
