PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a combined image in which two images are superposed using a simple structure. SOLUTION: An amount of operation for manual focus is captured, and based on the captured amount of operation and a predetermined cutting rule, a cutting position K(X, Y) for partially cutting an image from an original image GB is set, and also, by cutting the partial image following the set cutting position K(X, Y), a finder image GF superposed on an original image GA is generated, and the generated finder image GF is displayed. Accordingly, without adopting a complicated mechanism, the finder image GF formed by superposing the two original images GA and GB can be generated and displayed by using the simple structure.
