PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance sealing water device which can seal water by a simple method without using air pressure even with a waterwheel with large Hs. SOLUTION: The maintenance sealing water device includes a packing 13 which is installed on the outer periphery of the main shaft 3 at an interval from the main shaft and is formed of an elastic body, a packing case 11 in which the packing is stored, a water conduit 111 which is connected to a water supply source of higher pressure than the Hs water pressure and leads the high pressure water into the packing case, and a piston 15 which is stored inside the packing case in a movable manner backward and forward against the packing and applies force to the packing, under the pressure of the high pressure water led from the water conduit. The packing is elastically deformed in the radial direction of the main shaft to be sealed to the main shaft by applying force on the packing by the piston. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
