PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector that causes a cover covering a tip surface of the connector to reliably engage with the housing and can prevent enlargement of the connectors. SOLUTION: After a contact 33 to which wiring is connected is inserted and set in a contact holding hole 32 of a housing body 80, a plug housing 31 is assembled by engaging a rail 86 of a front cover 81 with a guide rib 84, and sliding the front cover in the direction perpendicular to the plug-in and -out direction of the plug housing 31 to engage them with each other. At this time, erroneous assembling of the combination of the housing body 80 and the front cover 81 is prevented by mutually making the combined shape of key portions 90 and 91 different from each other in two or more sorts of plug connectors 30.
