METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRIVING ELECTROPHORETIC DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A method and device for driving EPD(Electrophoretic Display) are provided to overcome the difference of a basic movement property between white particles and black particles by controlling a driving pulse. CONSTITUTION: A controller(100) controls the operation of an EPD driving device, determines data to be displayed on an EPD(300), and outputs a driving signal. A driver(200) controls the EPD by generating a driving pulse for moving black particles and white particles to be displayed on the EPD according to the driving signal from the controller. The EPD displays data with black or white according to the driving pulse. The driver divides a driving pulse for displaying while or black particles into a preset number and generates the driving pulse for including idle time when a voltage is not applied between the divided driving pulses.
