<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in utilizing efficiency of light caused by an internal mirror. <P>SOLUTION: A heat-assisted magnetic recording head has an internal mirror 30 that includes a reflecting film support body 27 and a reflecting film 35. The internal mirror 30 reflects light that comes from above a waveguide 26 so that the reflected light travels through the waveguide 26 toward a medium facing surface. The reflecting film support body 27 includes first and second inclined surfaces 272a and 272b. The reflecting film 35 includes first and second portions 351 and 352 that are located on the first and second inclined surfaces 272a and 272b, respectively.
