PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type hot water supply device capable of detecting failure without using a special component. SOLUTION: The storage type hot water supply device includes a hot water supply pipe 29 branched from a hot water tapping pipe 7, and including a hot water supply mixing valve 27 for mixing water of high temperature and supplied water, and supplying hot water of a set temperature; a hot water supply thermistor 30 detecting a hot water supply temperature at a downstream side of the hot water supply mixing valve 27 of the hot water supply pipe 29 and controlling the hot water supply mixing valve 29 to achieve a hot water supply set temperature; and a hot water supply flow rate counter 31 for counting the total hot water supply amount. A detection temperature of the hot water supply thermistor 30 is confirmed on the basis of lowering of the detection temperature of a water supply thermistor 44 to an average water supply temperature in a standby state, failure of an overpressure relief valve 42 is informed when the detection temperature is less than a hot water supply set temperature, and failure of the hot water supply flow rate counter 31 is informed in non-operation by confirming the hot water supply flow rate counter 31 when the detection temperature is the hot water supply set temperature, thus the failure of the overpressure relief valve 42 and the failure of the hot water supply flow rate counter 31 can be surely informed, and the storage type hot water supply device can be used at ease at all times.
