PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for survey of an IP telephone number for storing an IP address and a survey date of an incoming call side IP telephone, which performs auto dial transmission, in a memory. SOLUTION: The IP telephone number survey device includes the storage 12 for storing a number list of call originating numbers where a sequence number having a prescribed number of digits is added to an IP telephone station number, an SIP telephone call originator of reading the number list, makes connection to the Internet 16 via a proxy server 14 at the call originating side, and performs auto dial call origination to a call originating number, an IP address acquisition unit of transmitting session establishment request information to the Internet 16 through the call originating side proxy server 14, receiving tentative response information from the call originating side proxy server 14, and storing IP address information of an incoming call side SIP telephone 20 included in survey date information and tentative response information in the storage 12, and a line disconnector of disconnecting the call line of a call originating number subjected to auto dial transmission by an SIP telephone call originator.
