<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness in time periods required for reading processes of respective information codes in an optical information reading apparatus that optically reads information from an information code in which information is recorded. <P>SOLUTION: The optical information reading apparatus includes: an image acquisition portion that takes an image of an information code to acquire a target image that includes the image of the information code; a read process portion that analyzes the target image and performs a read process that includes identification of a kind and information extraction of the information code; a storage portion that stores the kind of the information code identified by the read process; a prediction portion that, based on the kind of the information code stored in the storage portion, predicts a kind of an information code that becomes a target for the next read process; a size information acquisition portion that acquires size information that indicates a rough size of the image of the information code of the target image; and a speed setting portion that based on the predicted kind and size information of the information code, sets a process speed of the read process portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
