PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film-like or thin-plate-like optical member that is used for an optical filter or the like of an imaging device, requires low manufacturing cost, is sufficiently reduced in size and thickness, does not change color characteristics depending on an incident angle or the like unlike a reflection type filter, and has high near-infrared shielding property, and to provide an optical filter using the optical member. SOLUTION: The optical member is a film-like or thin-plate-like optical member, and is composed of oxide crystallites including at least Cu and/or P, contains near-infrared absorption particles having a number-average coagulated particle size from 5-200 nm.
