PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding material which has performance such as rigidity, flexural strength and heat resistance, further good impact resistance, excellent moldability and impact resistance at room temperature, and to provide a molded article. SOLUTION: The molding material comprises a cellulose derivative containing at least one group obtained by replacing the hydrogen atom of a hydroxyl group contained in the cellulose by (A) a hydrocarbon group: -R<SB>A</SB>and at least one group obtained by replacing the hydrogen atom of a hydroxyl group by (B) an acyl group: -CO-R<SB>B</SB>(R<SB>B</SB>is a hydrocarbon group), and a polycarbonate resin.
