A method, device and base station for allocating edge frequency band resources are disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention, relating to the field of mobile communication. The method includes the following steps: acquiring the usage information of edge frequency band resource blocks in adjacent modes by message interaction; according to characteristic resource blocks in the adjacent modes and the usage information of the edge frequency band resource blocks in the adjacent modes, determining edge frequency band resource blocks available for the current mode in the next adjustment period; and allocating, in the next adjustment period, the determined edge frequency band resource blocks available for the current mode to cells which correspond to the current mode. The device comprises a usage information acquisition module, a mode coordination module and a resource allocation module. By adopting the scheme of coordinating the interference among the modes, the embodiments of the present invention effectively avoid the potential interference on other cells when coordination is only performed between two cells or among several cells and achieve very good effect on interference coordination, thereby reasonably allocating edge resources of the cells and effectively increasing the overall throughput of the system and the throughput of the edge users of the cells.
