<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print system which performs ecology setting by determining the mounting of carbon offset articles of consumption, and furthermore, which can solve the problem that characters are too small or color is too light. <P>SOLUTION: In the print system wherein a printer and a host device for transmitting print data to the printer are connected, the host device includes: a storage means wherein a print condition relating to ecology is stored; a read means for reading the print condition from the storage means when carbon offset articles of consumption are mounted on the printer; a display means for displaying a print preview according to the print condition read by the read means; and a transmission means for transmitting print data according to the print condition to the printer.
