<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition that is obtained by adding a liquid silicone-based defoaming agent to a liquid detergent, is transparent and has low foaming properties, a method for preparing the same and a method for making the liquid composition transparent. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition is obtained by adding a liquid silicone-based defoaming agent (B) to a liquid detergent (A) containing at least one of an anionic surfactant, a cationic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant and a bipolar surfactant. The liquid silicone-based defoaming agent (B) comprises (i) a polyorganosiloxane, (ii) fine silica powder, and, if necessary, (iii) a modified silicone and/or (iv) an emulsifying agent. When the refractive index of the liquid detergent (A) isαand the refractive index of an oil compound obtained by heat-treating a mixture that is used in the production of the liquid silicone-based defoaming agent (B) and composed of (i) the polyorganosiloxane and (ii) the fine silica powder at 40-250°C isβ, difference (ΔRI) betweenαandβsatisfies relational expression (1):ΔRI<0.02.
