<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system, authentication apparatus, terminal device, authentication method and program, in which the difficulty in capturing a source image from a hash value can be promoted, while improving avoidance of collisions of hash values. <P>SOLUTION: An authentication system 1 includes an authentication apparatus 10 and a terminal device 30. Upon receiving an authentication request from the terminal device 30, the authentication apparatus 10 transmits, to the terminal device 30, a challenge code containing preset two or more fixed values. Upon receiving the challenge code from the authentication apparatus 10, the terminal device 30 performs hashing for each of the two or more fixed values, calculates hash values and creates a response containing the hash values calculated.
