PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present a receiving state to a user in an image processor which transmits read image data by performing variable-length compression of the read image data and receives the transmitted data. SOLUTION: In an image processing system for transmitting image data read by an image reading device to the image processor, the image reading device performs variable-length compression of image data obtained by a reading unit in each block to transmit the image data to the image processor, and the image processor has a displaying unit which obtains the total number of blocks constituting the image data from the size of an image, and which displays a reception progress situation from a relation between the number of blocks included in received reception data and the total number of the blocks constituting the image data.
