POSITION REGISTRATION METHOD, MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND RADIO BASE STATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the state where a load is considerably increased by position registration processing in a switching center MME even when each of mobile stations moves over a pool area. SOLUTION: A position registration method includes the steps of: transmitting a tracking area update (TAU) signal when it is detected that a mobile station UE is not ranged within a TA list where position registration processing is being performed; and transferring the TAU signal from a radio base station eNB to an exchange MME identified by an exchange ID contained in the TAU signal. Even for exchange IDs identifying the same exchange, an exchange ID assigned to a mobile station #a that belongs to a first layer and an exchange ID assigned to a mobile station #b that belongs to a second layer are different, and a TA list and a pool area set to the mobile station #a and a TA list and a pool area set to the mobile station #b are different.
