PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suppressing and controlling sound distortion, which generates no sound distortion even when increasing up to the maximum level in a sound volume of an amplifier when a user adjusts bass or treble to an optional sound quality. SOLUTION: Voice to be output is regulated by a sound volume setting value, a bass setting value and a treble setting value, and each of them is temporarily stored in a memory section. The maximum allowable bass value and the maximum allowable treble value are stored beforehand in the memory section as those for suppressing sound distortion according to the sound volume setting value, and when the bass setting value and the treble setting value corresponding to the regulated voice setting value become larger than the maximum allowable bass value and the maximum allowable treble value, respectively, the bass setting value and the treble setting value are respectively changed to values lower than or equal to the maximum allowable bass value and the maximum allowable treble value, and then voice is outputted, based on the regulated voice setting value and the changed bass and treble setting values.
