PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaner for metal having all of high cleaning property for metal, corrosion resistance, and foam inhibition property. SOLUTION: The cleaner for metal comprises a component (A) which is a nonionic surfactant represented by general formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>O(EO)<SB>n</SB>(PO)<SB>m</SB>H, wherein R<SP>1</SP>is an 8-11C alkyl or alkenyl group; a component (B) which is an amine compound represented by general formula (2): R<SP>2</SP>-X-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB>-NH<SB>2</SB>, wherein R<SP>2</SP>is an 8-12C alkyl or alkenyl group and X is -O- or -NH-; a component (C) which is an aminocarboxylic acid chelating agent; a component (D) which is one or more kinds of carboxylic acids selected from the group consisting of a 4-12C aliphatic carboxylic acid, a salt of the aliphatic carboxylic acid, a 7-12C aromatic carboxylic acid, and a salt of the carboxylic acid.
