PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new scaly glass that assumes a color due to the presence of a specific amount of cobalt. SOLUTION: The scaly glass includes components meeting 40≤SiO<SB>2</SB>≤75, 0.1≤Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>≤30, and 5≤CoO≤50 (amount of CoO based on the total amount of Co) in terms of mass%. The scaly glass may includes crystals (e.g. Co) whose constitutional atom is Co. The scaly glass assumes a color such as blue and dark brown depending on the state of the cobalt included.
