PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a howling suppression apparatus with which the occurrence of howling is prevented from being erroneously determined by the input of outbreak sound. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a howling suppression apparatus including a digital signal processor, having a means for performing frequency analysis of an analog input signal using a digital input signal; a means for calculating, from a frequency analysis result, an accumulation average value of amplitude values for each frequency; a means for selecting a coefficient of a filter for reducing the amplitude value of a corresponding frequency, when the occurrence of howling is determined; a filter including a plurality of digital filters to which a plurality of coefficients selected are set; and a means for making a silence determination if it is determined that howling does not occur.
