METHOD FOR DETERMINING OR OPTIMIZING THE AVAILABILITY OF A COMMUNICATION NETWORK

The method according to the invention relates to calculating the availability of the nodes Ni and/or links Nj between a first node of the network and a plurality of nodes of the network (point to multipoint context). Said method next compares the calculated availability (probability) of the nodes and links by implementing the specific steps of the method according to the invention, using the value of the randomly generated numbers. If the randomly generated number is lower than the availability of the link or node, it is tagged as OK, and therefore in good operating condition (enabling the information to flow), and in the opposite case, it is considered faulty, NOK (not allowing the information to flow). Next, based on the open links and nodes (in the operating state), the method verifies if there is a path leading from the point of origin to all the user-defined end points without exception.
