<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional digital coherent reception system where the cost required for the digital coherent reception system becomes higher as the wavelength multiplexing carrier number increases because of the narrower line width of the light source required for the light source for a local oscillation light and higher accuracy required of the light frequency. <P>SOLUTION: In the digital coherent reception system of the optical transmission system to be disclosed, each local oscillation light for each of a plurality of optical receivers is collectively generated by at least one multicarrier light source. By reducing the number of local oscillation light sources by using a multicarrier light source to collectively generate local oscillation light for wavelength multiplexing signal light, configuration of the digital coherent reception system is greatly simplified, reducing the cost. In a digital coherent optical communication system, the light source wavelength of an optical transmitter that generates signal light can be simply equalized with the wavelength of a local oscillation light source of an optical receiver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
