<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein an occurrence of "rear end transfer shifting" is uniformly suppressed without causing a side effect even when a recording medium different in thickness or rigidity is used. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a guide member 30 for guiding the recording medium P that is conveyed toward a transfer position and a detection means 68 for detecting the thickness or rigidity of the recording medium. A plurality of guide leading end sections formed so that guiding conditions for the recording medium P are respectively different, are set on a leading end section of the guide member 30. Then, on the basis of the detected result of the detection means 68, the recording paper P to be guided by the guide member is displaced in the width direction by a varying means 28 so as to vary the guide leading end section coming in contact with the recording medium among the plurality of guide leading end sections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
