PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting the level of noise which occurs when a pair of resin gear wheels are engaged with each other. SOLUTION: The level of noise which occurs when a pair of resin gear wheels are engaged with each other is predicted by the method comprising a first relational expression derivation process; a second relational expression process to be performed as necessary; the process for deriving a maximum-radius position module; the process for deriving the normal pitch of a gear wheel; the process for deriving the normal pitch of an opposite gear wheel; and a noise prediction process. To be concrete, a module in teeth at positions at which the pair of resin gear wheels are engaged with each other is derived, and the normal pitches of both gear wheels are derived on the basis of the module at the positions of the engagement to determine the difference between the normal pitches.
