PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber material excellent in spinnability with which a fiber having good fiber strength, fiber elongation and hand touch can be obtained. SOLUTION: The fiber material contains a cellulose derivative having at least one group in which hydrogen atoms of hydroxy groups included in the cellulose are substituted with the following (A) and at least one group substituted with the following (B): (A) a hydrocarbon group, -R<SB>A</SB>; and (B) an acyl group, -CO-R<SB>B</SB>(R<SB>B</SB>represents a hydrocarbon group).
