PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a sensor for non-invasively measuring blood pressure, wherein the activity range of a measured person is limited by the wiring for measurement because the sensor needs a power supply for measurement so that the sensor is not suitable for long continuous monitoring of blood pressure. SOLUTION: The blood pressure sensor is composed of an elastic body attached to the outer wall of a blood vessel to change the form by the force generated from the pulsating motion of expansion/contraction of the blood vessel, and a plurality of nano-sized particles dispersed in the elastic body. When the force is applied with light emitted to the sensor, the magnitude of the force is measured based on the intensity of the scattering light from the particles or the light emission intensity of fluorescence according to the change of distance between the particles.
