PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly fuel efficient pneumatic tire without spoiling rigidity in the pneumatic tire using a Silitin blended diene based rubber composition. SOLUTION: Tread and/or sidewall of the pneumatic tire are formed using the diene based rubber composition containing: 5-60 pts.wt. of Silitin, 20-80 pts.wt. of carbon black per 100 pts.wt. of the diene based rubber, and 2-10 wt.% of a silane sulfide compound based on Silitin; provided that the carbon black is 70-150 m<SP>2</SP>/g in nitrogen adsorption specific surface area N<SB>2</SB>SA and that the silane sulfide compound is expressed by the general formula: (RO)<SB>3</SB>Si(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB>S<SB>n</SB>(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB>(OR)<SB>3</SB>, where R is a 1-18C alkyl group of mutually same or different carbon number and n is an integer of 1-5.
