TALL OIL PITCH COMPOSITION, METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME AND USES THEREOF

A tall-oil pitch product, which is saponified with an alkali, which product comprises a stable emulsion or a micelle-water mixture, and a method of producing it, and its uses. In the present method, in order to saponify and to hydrolyse tall-oil pitch, a mixture is formed of pitch, water and an alkali, which mixture is driven through a mixing area in which sufficiently large mixing and shear forces are directed at the mixture that the tall-oil pitch is partly saponified and transformed into a stable emulsion or a stable micelle-water mixture. The product is particularly suitable for clarifying soap and reducing foam during the treatment of black lye.
