FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Ferrite-based stainless steel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve ridging resistance and reduce a sliver defect of ferrite-based stainless steel by optimizing the content of titanium and austenite fractions. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of ferrite-based stainless steel is as follows. A ferrite-based stainless steel slab is heated, hot-rolled, and processed in a batch annealing furnace. The processed slab is cold-rolled and cold-annealed. The annealed slab is rough-milled two times at a reduction ratio per pass of 28%~35% and then one time at a reduction ratio per pass of 35% or greater. The hot-rolling temperature in the area where the reduction ratio per pass is over 35% is 950~1,100°C.
