A method of producing cellulose shaped articles comprising the steps of exposing non-dissolving cellulose-containing pulp to electron beam radiation originating from a plurality of locations, forming a solution or dope comprising the cellulose-containing pulp, and casting a cellulose shaped article from the solution. Apparatus suitable for doing this comprises at least one beam source capable of emitting beams from a plurality of locations.
