There is disclosed a hydrogen storage material which comprises a composite comprising : (i) at least one of a M-nitrogen compound; and (ii) a compound comprising (Y-Z)-R bonds. M is a metal or metalloid; Y is an element selected from Group 13 of the Periodic Table of Elements; Z is an element selected from Group 15 of the Periodic Table of Elements; and R is hydrogen (H) or a hydrocarbyl.
