METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FIBERGRATINGS

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an optical fiber grating is provided to reduce a deviation of a refractive index for a circumferential direction of a grating which is formed without rotating an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber(30) is composed of a core(31) and a clad(32) for covering the core. A reflective coating layer(35) is formed on an outer circumferential surface of a clad except for a surface area which is directly exposed on a light irradiation area. The light is irradiated from a light source to a mask so as to form a grating on the optical fiber. The coating material reflected from the clad is removed.
